Hunger Walk Volunteer - Flexible Times
Help eliminate hunger in your community by signing up to volunteer for Westside Food Bank's 24th Annual Hunger Walk. Westside Food Bank is currently seeking out a team of volunteers who can help us reach our goal of increasing participation in our 24th Annual Hunger Walk - a 5K walk along the beach in Santa Monica intended to raise awareness about hunger in our local community. Volunteers would be responsible for reaching out to local businesses, schools, clubs and other organizations to encourage them to form teams of employees, friends and family to participate in the Hunger Walk. It's free to register and
participate in the walk, and fundraising is completely optional. We are hoping to attract numerous walking teams from various business sectors and to encourage businesses to form friendly competitions among their competitors for the most walkers, the most funds raised, etc. For example, we'd love to
have several local hotels form teams, several real estate offices, law firms, etc.
While the focus will be on recruiting more walkers, volunteers will also provide information to local businesses on becoming business sponsors of the event and/or donating items for our raffle and silent auction. Volunteers will have the ability to make a great impact as every dollar that is raised from the Hunger Walk will provide 4 meals to our neighbors in need. Volunteers with established connections within the local business community are especially needed. Thank you so much for your interest in this opportunity. We hope that with your help we can continue to raise awareness about hunger in our community and work together to raise funds to provide healthy meals to our neighbors in need.
To sign up to volunteer, please fill out the following volunteer request form. To learn more about the Hunger Walk, please visit our Hunger Walk page. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Michael Girsback.
